K-Visual was first published in 2021 during the pandemic and is managed by 11 K-pop fans, including editor Julie Ann Alfonso, who has a background in fashion.
The magazine’s target audience consists of Spanish locals in their teens and 20s who are passionate about K-pop and K-fashion. It operates entirely on a voluntary basis.
Alfonso, a fan of K-pop and K-dramas herself, immersed herself in various forms of K-content during the pandemic.
The magazine recently featured the Korean Vegan Festival organized by the Korean Cultural Centre of Madrid, focusing on the theme of sustainability.
“Yang Yoona, the recipient of the Presidential Award at the Korea Fashion Design Contest in 2020, delivered an intriguing lecture titled ‘The Past, Present, and Future of K-Vegan Fashion.’ It provided me with a better understanding of vegan fashion in South Korea,” she added.
Eager to share her passion with other fans, Alfonso sought out individuals interested in joining her in running the magazine through social media platforms.
